Spent Saturday afternoon exploring some of Northern Wyoming and around Tongue River Reservoir State Park in Montana. I figured it was a good opportunity to try out some of the settings on my new camera.

Devil's Tower Wyoming
Last month I had originally planned to visit Devil’s Tower a place I hadn’t been
in 20 or so years but due to bad weather at the time I stuck around the Sheridan
area. For the past 2 weeks or so I’ve kept an eye on the weather looking for a
good time to go. The forecast for Saturday showed party cloudy skies with a high
in the 50’s, a perfect time to go. So Saturday morning I got my gear together
and headed out for a great day of exploring Devil’s Tower.
Can you spot the (2) sets of climbers in this photo? According to the park about
5000 people make the climb to the top of Devil’s Tower.

Coming around the backside of the tower I came across a small herd of
while-tails but I made too much noise before I noticed them so about half of
them got away before I could get my camera out.
A chipmunk a little further down the trail scared the crap out of me since I was
looking for more deer and not paying attention to him.
In a couple of areas the park service had been doing some clean-up of trees that had fallen in the area. Figured I’d grab a photo.
After taking the paved trail around the tower I made the short drive over to
Joyner Ridge trail to grab a few more photos of the tower. I would’ve had like
to hike the trail but not having snowshoes would of made it a little
difficult.

If I get a chance later in the year I’m going to try and make it back over to hike the trails and try to get some early morning and evening photo’s.
